An abandoned baby girl has been found dead at a dumping site in Atwima Takyiman, in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The baby, according to reports was placed in a paper box and wrapped in Kwadaso SDA Hospital cloth, indicating that either the mother went into labor at the hospital or attended the hospital for medication.
The assemblyman for the Takyima-Denkyemuoso electoral area, David Asare, who disclosed this to Bismark Mensah of Angel News, said the baby was found by the caretaker of the dumping site.
“The baby was found in a paper box, dead, wrapped in Kwadaso SDA Hospital cloth. But we have not yet discovered the mother or parents. We have performed all necessary rituals and have laid her to rest,” Mr. Asare added.
He assures the public that the community will collaborate with the appropriately agencies to get the perpetrators arrested and face the law.
“We are committed to investigating this until we find the mother or father of this abandoned baby and ensure they face the law,” he said
