Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Sarah Adwo Safo has terminated the appointment of Mrs Gertrude Quashigah as the National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme.
Her dismissal takes immediate effect according to a letter dated Tuesday, May 18, 2021 and signed by the Minister.
In the letter, Adwoa Safo noted that the former Coordinator’s one month’s salary would be paid “in lieu of notice” as stipulated in her contract agreement.
Mrs. Gertrude Quashigah, the Coordinator, is expected to handover all official documents or properties in her custody to the Chief Director of the Ministry, according to the letter.
Prior to the termination of her appointment, the Coordinator’s office was subjected to a special audit by a team of auditors from the Ministry and Internal Audit Agency (IAA), for the academic period spanning from 2017 to 2020.

The audit followed reports of caterers who complained about the School Feeding Programme Management’s non-payment of arrears owed them, to which the Public Relations Officer of the management, Asiiba Alfa, issued a communique indicating that the office is engaging appropriate authorities on.
