Man, 54, shot dead on his farm at Assin South

A 54-year-old man, Kofi Asare has allegedly been shot and killed on his farm by one Joshua Baidoo, 37, over a land dispute at Nnuanua Fante in the Assin South District of the Central Region.

Information gathered by Rich and Angel FM/TV reporter, Kwame Owusu Asante Shadrack indicates that the suspect had earlier threatened to kill the deceased.

The incident is said to have occurred on Wednesday, 22nd July, 2021 when the deceased had gone to work on his cocoa farm where the alleged suspect confronted him leading to a heated argument.

The suspect was said to have shot him in the abdomen during the argument.

Eyewitnesses heard the gunshot and approached the scene and found the deceased in a pool of blood battling for his life.

The deceased, according to the witnesses named the suspect as the one who shot him.

The 54-year-old however died on the way while being conveyed to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect, Joshua Baidoo who was hiding under his girlfriend’s bed has been arrested by the Assin Fosu Divisional Police command.
