Whitman County Authorities have identified the victim of a drowning incident on Saturday afternoon as 27-year-old Ghanaian engineer Andrew M. Amuna of Pullman, Washington State, USA.

Amuna had recently relocated from North Carolina to Pullman for employment purposes.

The exact cause and manner of death is pending autopsy results and other related findings from the Whitman County Coroner’s Office. Family members have been notified.

On Saturday, July 24 at approximately 4:35 pm, deputies with the Asotin County and Whitman County Sheriff’s Offices were dispatched for a water rescue at Granite Point on the Snake River. The 911 caller reported a male had been in the water near the shoreline and could not be located where he was last seen.
