‘Include approved Herbal Medicines in NHIS’ – Gracegift Clinic CEO to Govt

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gracegift Herbal Clinic, Dr Grace Boadu has called on the Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service to include approved Herbal Medicines in the list of approved drugs under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).

This, she said will encourage herbal medicine practitioners to up their game and produce efficacious herbal medicines for the local market.

“It will also help improve the herbal medicine practice as a whole,” she added.

Dr Boadu made this appeal while speaking at the opening of the Accra branch of the Gracegift Herbal Clinic in Achimota Petroleum in Accra.

Services provided at the ultramodern clinic include Diagnostic scan, ultramodern scan, laboratory scan and physiotherapy.

They also treat sicknesses Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) such as Gonorrhea and Syphilis.

The home of quality herbal healthcare also treats Malaria, Diabetes, Typhoid Fever, Arthritis, Stroke, sexual weakness and skin infections

Others include candidiases, peptic ulcers, infertility, prostate enlargement and hypertension.

Dr. Grace Boadu has branches in Brong Ahafo, Atwima Koforidua and Ohwim, near Barekese. And currently open new one at the capital city of Ghana Accra which is behind new Achimota Police station.

Her call for support for herbal Medicines was supported by the secretary of GHAFTRAM, Nana Kwadwo Obiri who urged the Ministry to work to facilitate the process.

He further urged Ghanaians to have confidence in herbal medicines as according to him, the federation is ready to improve the quality of drugs they produce.
