Ghana Premier League outfit, Accra Great Olympic’s new signing George Asamoah has disclosed that he joined the club in quest for more playing time.

The highly rated midfielder who penned down a one-year contract revealed that getting more playing time is key thus it became crucial in his move to the Accra based team’s side.

George, turning down offers from power houses such as reigning league Champions Hearts Of Oak and Asante Kotoko observe that despite footballers prioritizing the monetary aspect in every transfer of their career forgoing playing time cannot be left out.

“Yes what you’ve heard is true, I have joined Olympics. As you know as a footballer sometimes you have to do the favourable than considering money”

“People do talk about financial a lot but if you don’t get playing time how could your name be maintained. But for me I believe that the more you get playing time the more you earn money” he told Wontumi Sports, monitored by Angelonline.com.gh.

George Asamoah then refuted claims by many that his refusal to join either Hearts or Kotoko follows his fear of competition for the midfield of both clubs.

“There’s competitions in Olympics and in football too there’s competitions everywhere. So I was not scared with competitions from any club because if you fear competition how would you play” he debunked.
