3 suspects in connection with murder of SHS final year student arrested

The Divisional Police Command in Bekwai in the Ashanti Region has revealed that three among six persons, wanted for alleged murder case, have been arrested.

The suspects, are currently under investigation for allegedly stabbing to death one Richard Kofi Appiah, a Final year student of Oppong Memorial Senior High School (OMESS) at Kokofu near Bekwai of the Ashanti Region.

The three, assisting police investigation following their arrest are; Solomon Nimako(17 year), Richard Nkrumah (15 year) and a 16 year old Albert Opoku are all students in the Junior High School level.

Meanwhile other acomplices currently on the run according to the police includes, Kofi Nti, Ramsay Okyere and Kofi Atta.

Speaking to Angel FM’S reporter Bismark, Divisional police commander for Bekwai DSP Teddy Damptay Brown, noted that the arrest of the three suspects were made possible by his men at the blind side of the suspect’s hideouts.

Currently in police custody, they will be interrogated to assist investigation in the case.

Richard Kofi Appiah, a Final year student of the Oppong Memorial Senior High School (OMESS) at Kokofu near Bekwai of the Ashanti Region was stabbed to death by a group of young boys on the night of Saturday, September 4, 2021.

Through the scuffle, a broken bottle was used to stab the victim by the attackers leading to his untimely death upon rushing him to a nearby hospital.

The body has since been deposited at the morgue for preservation and autopsy.
