Resilient nature of the economy is conducive for investment – Foreign Ministerf to Norwegian envoy

Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, has urged the Norwegian Ambassador-designate to Ghana, Ingrid Mollestad, to encourage her countrymen to invest in Ghana.

Madam Shirley made the earnest request during the presentation of the Norwegian envoy’s open letters to the Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.

According the Minister, the resilient nature of the economy makes it a conducive place for investment. She said even in the face of the global Covid-19 pandemic, the economy continues to grow and at a much faster rate of recovery than originally envisaged.

She further noted that Ghana remains one of the most attractive destinations on the continent for Foreign Direct Investment, and added that the commencement of trading under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), is expected to boost economic growth of the continent with Ghana as the entry point.

The Minister, assured Madam Ingrid of the governments commitment to work assiduously to deepen the bilateral relationship between the two counties and gave her word that her ministry will continue to support the course for their mutual benefits.
