The Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) Stephen Asamoah Boateng, popularly called ‘Asa B’, has expressed his readiness to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to victory in 2024 general elections to break the eight-year routine.

According to him, when given the nod for the national chairmanship position of the NPP, he would use his experiences gathered in the political front to protect the legacies of Prez Akufo-Addo by ensuring NPP retains the seat.

He made this remark on Anopa Bofo morning show hosted by Kofi Adoma Nwanwani on Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

“My previous presidential aspiration was just to pave the way for my chairman dream. So it’s true, by God’s grace and simple tactics my chairmanship dream will come to pass in humility”

“So we are going to win power come 2024. it’s not going to be easy at all because it is going to be a crucial contest. If we don’t take precautionary measures to protect Prez Akufo-Addo’s legacies, our rivals [NDC] will come and reverse them. We will do it well so we can break the eight in 2024 to enable Prez Akufo-Addo handover the baton to another NPP Prez to make the economy stable” Stephen Asamoah Boateng told Kofi Adoma.

The former Information and Tourism Minister under ex-president John Agyekum Kuffuor’s administration further indicated that in order to break the eight-year cycle, one needs the support of people hence the need for consultations with some stakeholders including council of elders in the party.

Mr. Stephen Asamoah Boateng emphasized the need to touch base with the grassroots and party foot soldiers in a bid to help propagate the good works of government and ideals of the party.
