A car crash on the Kwashieman – Kasoa road has left one okada rider dead while six other persons have sustained varying degrees of injuries.

The incident is believed to have occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Barnyard on Kwashieman – Kasoa road.

According to Angel TV’s reporter, Solomon Sarfo, “the driver of a pick up truck was speeding to catch up with another driver who had scratched a portion of his car. Upon reaching Barnyarn, the driver lost control and first ran into an okada rider who was on the side of the road before ramming two other damaged cars parked on the road”

“In all 5 cars were involved in the accident including a taxi and a private car with registration number GT 7920-V, which were under repair by a mechanic at the time of the crash ”

Solomon Sarfo added that the pick up truck only came to a halt after colliding into a tanker thus, reducing the damage and the number of casualties.

Angelonline.com.gh understands that all the cars involved in the crash have been towed away while the victims of the accident have been conveyed by an ambulance including the driver of the pick up who is alleged to be a police officer.

Though he did not comment on the accident, DSP Stephen Atsu of the Anyaa MTTD Unit pledged that henceforth no faulty car would be left abandoned on the road.
