The husband of the missing pregnant woman, Michael Simons has refuted claims by the Western Regional Minister that the victim is not pregnant as purported in the public domain.

The victim, Josephine Panyin Mensah, was alleged to have gone missing on the dawn of Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Takoradi in the Western Region after going for a routine walk.

The minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah on Anopa Bofo morning show told Kofi Adoma Nwawanni that intelligence he received from the police indicated that the supposed missing pregnant woman was not pregnant as believed.

“I want to put on record base on the information my security personnel have provided to me…The woman was not pregnant because the doctor who treated her at Axim told them that she is not pregnant. So I want to put that on record first” he stated.

Kwamena Okyere Darko added that the hospital said neither was the victim assaulted nor was she having any sign of mental unstableness, following test conducted by medical officials of the hospital, where the former is receiving treatment after being hospitalized

“She has not been assaulted by the kidnappers as circulating in the public domain. Maybe she got herself dirty at the carpentry shop where she went to sleep, so it’s said she was not beaten.”

“She is mentally stable according to checks by the doctor following examination they conducted” the minister noted.

Reacting to the minister’s allegations, Michael Simons, husband of the victim, who said there’s no iota of truth in the assertions said “My wife is pregnant for nine months so why are they saying report issues here.”

Further on expressing his frustration, he lamented that he’s not a barren man let alone desperate for child to have informed his decision engage in such pretentious act.

“If she is not pregnant, why would I or she fake pregnancy since am not desperate for a child? We already have a 3-year-old child, so why faking?” he quizzed in his interview with Kofi Adoma Nwanwani.

Meanwhile, the Minister says he has ordered security personnel in the community to investigate the victim and her husband to ascertain the veracity of the matter since the entire country cannot be in a disorganized state with a fake story, on account of the information he received from the security apparatus.
