The Awutu Breku Police Command has arrested and detained two suspects said to be kingpins of motorbike theft operating in the Awutu Bereku Senya District and beyond.

Their arrest was occasioned when a victim of the theft case, Daniel Antwi Brown, reported to the police about his missing motorbike which he accused the two of stealing.

The pair, Stephen Appiah 21 and Kwame Elliot 27, had escaped with the motorbike into a nearby bush to their hideout but were apprehended with the aid of the complainant.

Awutu Breku Station Officer, Chief Inspector Stephen Tamaklo, confirmed the incident to Angel news reporter, Opanyin Darko, noting that the offence was committed on September 27, 2021, at dawn.

According to him, the complaint woke up early dawn to go out with his motorbike only to notice that it was nowhere to be found.

“It was in the morning that two boys were brought that they have stolen a motorbike. According to the complainant, it was in the morning that he realized his motorbike was missing so he went to the area but didn’t find it.

“But later, he saw a tricycle parking somewhere with which they were going to convey the motorbike away before he quickly raised an alarm for their arrest to be effected” he explained.
