The Sekyere Central District Assembly has confirmed Kingsley Kodua Benjamin as the Chief Executive for the Assembly.

He secured 71% of valid votes cast from the 38 Assembly Members who were present and participated in the exercise which was supervised by the District Office of the Electoral Commission (EC).

Out of the 38 Assembly Members who were present, 27 Assembly members voted YES with 11 voting NO to approve President Akufo-Addo’s nominee for the District.

Mr. Kodua Benjamin after his approval thanked the first gentleman of the land and members of the Assembly for endorsing him and pledged to work in the best interest of all stakeholders.

He again promised to do a sacrificial job to vindicate President Akufo-Addo for reposing confidence in him.

“If you see how the traditional authorities, assembly members, disables and the entire community were jubilating over my confirmation, it means the people have confidence in me. So I will work hard so I don’t fail them.

“We can all attest to the fact that the President has improvement in education at heart and since the district’s performance in the sector is deteriorating based on recent examinations, I will do all I can to change the narrative,” he assured.

The Member of Parliament for Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo constituency, Adelaide Ntim, indicated that she’s proud that a disabled person was appointed DCE as it gives hope to the disabled persons in the area.

She called on all and sundry to rally their support behind the new DCE to continue the good work his predecessor, Mr. Kwadwo Banahene Bediako did.
