A District Magistrate Court at Ho in the Volta Region has remanded into Police custody a 21-year-old footballer, Fenuku Frank Junior, who is the lead suspect in the Police recruitment scam case.

The suspect’s remand follows his arrest on September, 28, 2021 at Zongo Junction, Adenta in the Greater Accra region for allegedly pretending to be an authority to defraud the public in the ongoing recruitment process in the Ghana Police Service.

Prosecution officer, Inspector Oscar Ayayi, narrating to the Ho court presided over by Mr. Akosa Amoanpong Yaw Agyare, said the suspect had created a fake Facebook account in the name and image of the Volta Regional Police Commander, DCOP Mr. Edward Oduro Kwateng, advertising to aid applicants who have the potential to be enrolled into the Ghana Police Service in the ongoing recruitment exercise.

He added that, the suspect Fenuku Frank Junior was however nabbed after coming out of his hideout to meet other victims in a pretentious way to take money from them.

The case has since been adjourned to October 14, 2021.
