Members of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) have endorsed President Akufo-Addo’s nominee, Elizabeth Naa Kwatsoe Tawiah Sackey as the new Metropolitan Chief Executive of the Assembly.

Her appointment was confirmed after 30 assembly members within three constituencies, namely Odoidiodiooo , Ablekuma South and Okaikwei South overwhelmingly endorsed her in Thursday’s elections at the AMA conference hall.

She had 100% of the total votes cast in the Accra Metropolitan Assembly after all 30 assembly members present in the house voted ‘YES’ in her favour

Madam Sackey now replaces the immediate past Mayor, Mohammed Adjei Sowah.

In her acceptance speech, she expressed her gratitude to members of the August house for reposing their trust in her.

Elizabeth Naa Kwatsoe Tawiah Sackey stressed that “You will agree with me that the position of Metropolitan Chief Executive is a very challenging one and it requires a lot of commitment, dedication and hardwork to chalk success. So, it will therefore take a consented efforts from all stakeholders to achieve this.”

Dignitaries present at the exercise include: Henry Quartey, Regional Minister; Shirley Ayorkor Botchway, Foreign Affairs Minister; Lord Oblitey Commey, Director of Operations at the Presidency.
