Popular actor-cum-comedian, Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng better known as ‘Funny Face’ has been arrested by Ghana Police for allegedly threatening his baby mama, Vanessa and some individuals on social media.
His arrest was effected on Monday, October 18, 2021 at the premises of Kofi TV moments after a live interview with renowned journalist Kofi Adoma Nwawanni.
In the viral video, the actor was seen issuing a threat against some key entertainment personalities including Fada Dickson and Bola Ray and also threatened to kill his ex-lover Vanessa.
Following this, the police who found the threats so worrying proceeded to pick up the ‘suspect’ for interrogations.
A statement issued by the police service after stressed that they are “committed to protecting lives with the generous help of the public. We want to assure the public that we shall not take anything for granted in the interest of public safety”, it stated.
The statement added that with the psychological history of Funny Face, he will be processed to court in order to examine him for the next line of action.
“Due to the history of the suspect, the police shall submit Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng to the court for an order for psychiatric examination, to determine the next line of investigative action,” the police stated after his arrest.
Meanwhile, in February, 2021, Funny Face was arrested by the police in Kasoa for discharging a firearm at a pub.
