Medikal, Shatta Wale and 3 others to reappear in court today

Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale, and his three accomplices are expected to reappear in court today, Tuesday, October 26, 2021, after one week on remand.

The four, were remanded by an Accra Circuit Court on Thursday, October 21, 2021, after faking a gun shot.

Shatta Wale pleaded not guilty of his charges of publication of false news and causing fear and panic.

Similarly, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, Eric Venator and Idris Yusif have also pleaded not guilty to their charge of abetment of crime.

Shatta Wale was arrested on October 19, 2021 after he turned himself in following public announcement that he was wanted by Ghana Police.

Medikal’s court case

Meanwhile hiplife artiste, Samuel Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal, is also expected to reappear in court today after five days on remand.

He was remanded by a Circuit Court in Accra on October 22, 2021, for brandishing a weapon in a video found on social media.

The ‘Omo Ada’ (Dem sleep) hit-maker has been charged with the display of arms and ammunition.

He however pleaded not guilty to the charge.

At the hearing on Friday, October 22, 2021, counsel for the Ghanaian rapper, Emmanuel Yeboah Gyan, prayed the court to grant his client bail on the basis of good behavior.

But the prosecution opposed the plea, and remanded the accused into police custody.
