Ghana Premier League winner to pocket cash prize of GH₵250,000

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced prize packages for its new upcoming football season which gets under way on the weekend of 29th, 30th and 31st October, 2021.

With regards to this, the winner of the 2021/22 Premier League will take home a trophy and cash prize worth GH₵250,000 as well as 40 gold medals.

However, the first and second runner up will earn GH₵150,000 and GH₵80,000 with 40 silver medals and 40 Bronze medals respectively.

Elsewhere in the second-tier competition (Division One), eventual winners of the various Zones (One, Two and Three) will receive a brand-new car and 40 medals as reward packages whiles the second placed teams take home GH₵30,000 and 30 silver medals each.

On the part of the Women’s League, the champion shall be rewarded with GH₵50,000 and 40 Gold medals while the runner up receives GH₵30,000 and 40 Silver medals.

Meanwhile, each of the 20 participating clubs will receive movable mini goalpost, cones, footballs, shin guards, jersey, team bags and ball bags.

This development was made known by the President of GFA, Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 during the launch of the football season at the GFA headquarters in Accra.

He promised a facelift in the area of television coverage since its official broadcast right holder StarTimes are set to invest $1 million in production and promotion of the elite competition.

They are expected to broadcast live at least 150 matches across competitions on Adepa channel 247 and Max TV.
