Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the best performing referee in the upcoming 2021/22 Premier League season will be rewarded with a brand-new car.

This was disclosed by president of the GFA, Mr. Edwin Kurt Okraku on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 during the launch of the new football season.

According to the football administration, the move is to encourage referees to exhibit their best performance in the games which kick off on Friday, October 29, 2021.

This, the president believes will put smiles on the faces of all officiating officials to enable them give their all when the season starts.

‘’For the Ghana Premier League, the best referee for the year will take home a car at the end of the season. I am very sure that our referees will be happy’’

‘’The whole idea is to encourage our referees to be competitive and deliver top notch performances over the course of the season’’ President Simon Okraku stressed.

The Referees Committee has selected about ninety referees and assistants for the upcoming campaign after undergoing various training programmes to prepare them for the campaign.
