Business booms for traders as scores of New Patriotic Party (NPP) sympathizers and members in the Ashanti Region rush for branded souvenirs of Regional Chairman hopeful, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah.

Despite branded T-shirts selling at GH₵50.00, the impatient youth numbering over a hundred would not give the seller breathing space as some purchased three to five at a go while others were seen taking off their clothes and jostling party officials for other Odeneho branded souvenirs.

This happened on the morning of Wednesday, October 27, 2021 when the NPP was holding its annual delegates conference at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.

Those who were unable to secure the shirts but managed to purchase branded caps placed them on top of vehicles amidst chanting change songs.

Turning into a scuffle, one would spot few others engaging in heated verbal exchanges over the branded T-shirt in a bid to secure one.

It is unclear how those t-shirts got to the venue. However, sources at the grounds said it a usual strategy used by businessmen and women to make profit from contesting parties.

A source, Sampson Kwabena Agyeman who spoke with Angelonline.com.gh explained that people make good money from popular contestants and what is being sighted at the delegates conference could be no exception.

“You see these business people do their own survey based on popularity and the people’s choice. …And so it’s possible Odeneho Kwaku Appiah is more popular than his contenders, Maybe!” he added shrugging his shoulders.

Meanwhile, the youth besieged the conference venue as early as 5am in anticipation of the arrival of party Executives for the conference which was scheduled to begin at 9am.

The program is currently underway as some National Executives are already present.
