Reports reaching Angelonline.com.gh is that 17 persons have lost their lives in a gory accident on the Offinso-Abofour road in the Ashanti Region.
The accident is said to have occurred when a MAN Diesel vehicle heading towards Kumasi from the Northern Region collided with a Sprinter Bus, which was heading towards the north from Accra, specifically Madina.
Head of the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) in the Ashanti Region, Simbiatu Wiredu, said the accident occurred around 3:00am on Monday Morning.
“Seventeen (17) other persons are also injured and have been rushed to the Offinso Hospital for treatment while the dead are in the morgue…,” she added.
She further revealed that seven adults and 10 children perished in the head-on collision.
“Of the seven adults, one is a male while six are females…two children (males) died and eight females who are also children also died…,” she said further.
