The Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS) has asked the general public to ignore false recruitment advertisements making waves on social media.

In a statement, the Service noted that its attention has been drawn to “a false information that has gained wide circulation on social media” that “the Office of the Head of Local Government Service has officially released it second batch of posting officers and assistants to the service and it is therefore requesting the said officers to submit copies of their original academic certificates for their appointment letters”

Distancing itself from what they term as false publications, the OHLGS has called on the general public to “therefore disregard the said information and treat it as a scam.”

The statement, signed by the Chief Director of the Local Government Service, James Oppong-Mensah, said that some persons have collected monies from unsuspecting victims and have come up to with the message to assuage their incessant calls.

They debunked the false claims saying they have not contracted any organization or individuals to act on their behalf.
