The Omanhene of Sefwi Bekwai, Oyeadeɛyie Basapeh Kwadwo Armah II, has charged the Chiefs to hold politicians accountable to their promises.

He made the call in an interview with Angel FM’s reporter Kofi Gyabaah when the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai, Alfred Amoah and the assembly’s departmental heads paid a courtesy visit to Sefwi Bekwai traditional council upon resuming office for his second term.

According to the Omanhene, Alfred Amoah indicated plans his outfit had which they intended to execute, however, he questioned what the assembly has been able to achieve after the promises made to people of the municipality.

He emphasized that politicians always visit the chiefs and give make persuasive promise’s but fail to honour them. Consequently, the Omanhene expects the MCE as matter of concern to pay the community a visit every six months to answer to promises they have been able to deliver.

“They are doing the work for the community so if they give any promises today they want to see the result of what they have done, and what they couldn’t do” he said.

The MCE, Alfred Amoah, speaking to the media admitted to honour the chief’s request to help them as the MCE, to meet their expectations and in turn satisfy his promise for the people in the community.

“The Omanhene pleaded to us to meet him every six months but we will see because the other communities under him is many but we will try our possible best to meet them anytime they need our presence in the community “he said in Twi
