An award-winning gospel musician, Nana Yaw Boakye popularly known in the music industry as MOG, has said he is surprised his music has sold overseas.

The musician made this revelation yesterday November 22, 2021 on Yenko fie on Neat FM monitored by Angelonline.com.gh.

When the host Ola Micheals asked about his song going international, he replied that he didn’t know how it become popular.

The “Be lifted” composer established that the song became a hit at a time when he had given up and depression began to set in on the eve of the release date.

MOG established that he had to travel outside the country and work as a security to scrape money together for his song.

He continued that he became depressed because he had used all he had gathered during his travel for the song in spite of his previous songs not doing well.

He said his accountant advised him to try again and upon the advice he just uploaded the song on YouTube, switch his laptop off to go to bed only to wake up the next day to news of his song trending.

He recalled where he was and how God picked him up to bless him.

The musician said he developed interest for music at an early stage when he use to join the choir and sing at church.

MOG won the male vocalist of the year in the Vodafone music award 2020.

MOG is set to release new single.
