Walewale: Police in hot pursuit of robbers who shot dead a ‘Momo’ vendor

The Walewale District Police Command is on the heels of some seven armed robbers, who shot dead a 38-year-old mobile money agent at Yama in the West Mamprusi Municipality.

The gang made away with an unspecified amount of money and other items after attacking some mobile money vendors and other shops in the village.

According to a police statement issued on Thursday, the incident, which occurred on Wednesday night, November 24, also left a 37-year-old man severely wounded.

“The Walewale District Police Command in the North East Region has launched a special anti-robbery operation to hunt down seven suspected armed robbers who shot and killed one Bugri Imoro, aged 38 years and severely wounded a 37-year-old man at Yama, a village in the West Mamprusi Municipality”, the statement read.

The District Police Command has intensified its patrols and anti-robbery operations within the municipality to get the robbers arrested and safeguard lives and property, said ASP Robert Anabiik Anmain.
