NSMQ 2021: Prempeh College triumph a ‘thoroughly deserved victory’ – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Akufo-Addo has congratulated Prempeh College on winning the 2021 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) trophy for the fifth time.

Describing their win as “a thoroughly deserved victory, he hinted of his plans of welcoming the victors to the Jubilee House soon.

The final contest was held on Friday, November 26, 2021 at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) after it was held in the Ashanti regional capital Kumasi for the first time since its inception.

The ‘Amanfuo’ was crowned champions of the national championship after beating competition from Legon Presec (Ɔdadeɛs) and the ‘Dzololians’ (Keta SHTS) in the final contest.

President Akufo-Addo taking to his Twitter page posted “Congratulations to Prempeh College on their victory in the finals of NSMQ 2021. It was a thoroughly deserved victory” he wrote.

With this feat, the President stated that he looks forward to “welcoming them again to Jubilee House very soon.”

Prempeh College finished the contest with 53 points, with 4 points above 2020 champions Presec-Legon who came second with 49 points while Keta Senior High Technical School accumulated 30 points.

The victory takes them a step closer to closing the trophy gap between them and Presec-Legon who has six titles as the record for most successful school in the competition.
