A self-acclaimed man of God in Nyamenyekrom in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region, Elisha Nyame threw the entire town into a state of confusion when he with the help of some members of his church exhumed the corpse of his late mother.
The Pastor undertook this action claiming he has received direction from God that he can resurrect the mother who died almost a year ago and was buried in the town’s cemetery.
The Pastor who is married with two kids claimed he was of the firmest conviction that his late mother would resurrect from the dead despite seeing corruption because the God he deserves has the ability to bring dead people to life.
After several hours of prayer, Elijah Nyame could not bring back his dead mother to life leading many to describe him as a ‘mad man’.
“I am not mad to bring corpse to my room…the world is now corrupt and Jesus Coming soon and Jesus asked me to preach so they all get converted…,” he reacted.
Unit Committee secretary in the area, Francis Parla who spoke with Kumasi-based Angel FM’s Angel 96.1FM said they had invited the Police into the case.
“We have informed the Police about the case…but in the meantime, they are preparing a new coffin for the corpse…,” he said.
According to the Unit Committee secretary, Elijah Nyame had previously attempted to resurrect some dead people in the community but have failed.
He has since been arrested.
