An ex-police officer whose identity is given as Prince Nyarko is currently in the grips of Ejisu Police Command for allegedly attempting to shoot his tenant over rent issues.

The incident is reported to have happened on Sunday, December 5, 2021.

According to the victim, Prince Boateng, the suspect deliberately fired two gunshots at him following the misunderstanding that ensued between the two.

Narrating his ordeal on Kumasi-based Otec FM news, he indicated that the suspect ordered him to vacate the house around 1:00am dawn since his tenancy contract expired three days earlier.

Despite the order to pack out, Prince Boateng could not heed to the directive due to time factor, a situation which he said necessitated the landlords actions.

“Mr. Nyarko went into his room and returned with a Pump Action gun, which at first I thought was only a move by him to scare me out of the house.

“I went into my car to drive out of the house only for my landlord to fire two shots directly at me in the car, I had to scale the fence wall to save my life,” he explained on the news bulleting.

The suspect is currently in police custody at Ejisu Police Command assisting investigations.
