Kotoko signs Gh¢1.3m deal with Betika Ghana on 2-year contact

Ghana Premier League side Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Betika Ghana have officially signed a partnership deal for the next two football seasons worth GH¢1.3 million.

The contractual agreement was signed today, December 7, 2021 at Golden Bean Hotel at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

Kotoko will earn close to GH¢630,000 per annum and in-kind provision of balls, nets, and other sporting equipment.

In addition, the partnership is aimed at investing in the youth to develop talent through sports, arts and culture.

In a remark during the launching ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of Betika, Mr Rupen Samani, noted that their partnership with clubs in the country indicates their contributions towards sports through investment in the youth.

“This partnership confirms our commitment to investing in the youth and in the country through sports, arts and culture with football being a key focus” he remarked.

On the part of the beneficiary, Chief Executive Officer of Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah, applauded Betika and said they feel honoured by this partnership and would like to welcome Betika to the Porcupine Family.

He stressed that “We are confident that through our partnership we will be able to do a great deal in ensuring both organizations have great visibility, we certainly look forward to a wonderful partnership.”

Nana Yaw Amponsah is also optimistic the deal will extremely reduce the clubs financial obligations.

“The Porcupine Warriors believe that this partnership will go a long way towards not only easing the club’s financial obligations but also increasing the league’s monetary incentive.”

With regards to the deal, Kotoko are mandated to advertise and promote Betika Ghana, encouraged supporters to bet with Betika Ghana, and also be their worthy ambassadors.
