A 34-year-old teacher at the Twifo Nyinase Roman Catholic Basic School in the Twifo Ati-Morkwa District of the Central Region is reported to have engaged in anal sex with a 60-year-old man.

According to the victim, Opanin Kofie, the teacher, Alexander Akwasi Acquah first came to him to inquire if he was alone at home.

After he confirmed that he was indeed alone at the time, Mr. Alexander Acquah offered to buy him a drink at a nearby drinking spot, a request he agreed to since they were neighbours.

Subsequently, teacher Alexander Acquah requested to spend the night with Opanin Kofie because he claimed his sisters have come from Accra and were going to use his room which Opanin Kofie also agreed to.

Narrating his ordeal to Angel FM’s Nana Fynn, Opanin Kofie stated I woke up startled when I felt a strange piercing in my anus around 2:00 am.

I then questioned him that Akwasi what have you done. So all this while you had planned to do this and that’s why you took me out ostensibly to buy me drink.

He continued that you only wanted to get me drunk so you can have your way with me and so I proceeded to exit the room to report the incident to my brother next door.

Opanin Kofie noted that unfortunately his brother, Mr. Arhin, was not there but he reported the issue to the wife.

Angel news team further spoke with the Twifo Ati-Morkwa District Director of Education, Mr. Anthony Takyi, who confirmed that he has received such report and the directorate is assisting the police to get hold of the suspect who is currently on the run.

Mr. Anthony Takyi also hinted on a secret transfer that the family of teacher Alexander Akwasi Acquah wanted from the directorate which has been declined.

I told him that we’ve received a complaint against him which is yet to be resolved when he approached me with his mother and sisters.

Besides transfers are not approved like that. You first have to apply to the office for investigations to be done with circuit supervisors and headteachers to find out your behavior. Afterwards we follow due process and other assessments to find out where you will be placed, Mr. Takyi said in Twi.

Meanwhile, Angel News reporter has said that the community members especially parents are distressed by the incident since the perpetrator is a class two pupil teacher.

They are worried that the said teacher might have sodomized or sexually abused the pupils and threatened them to be silent.
