Hearts – Kotoko super clash rescheduled to February 20

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has rescheduled the date for the game between Hearts of Oak and arc rivals Asante Kotoko.

The Match week seven, according to the football association will now be played on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The two rival clubs were originally scheduled to lock horns on Sunday, December 12, 2021, for the first meeting of the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League season.

However, due to the tight schedule of Hearts of Oak as a result of their campaign in the CAF Confederations Cup that ended, the GFA resorted to postponing the game in respect of their 2nd leg of the CAF Confederation Cup play-off tie against JS Saoura.

A statement from the GFA read as follows, “the Super Clash match between Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko SC has been scheduled for Sunday, February 20, 2022.

“The Matchweek 7 outstanding match will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium and will kick off at 3pm.

“The fixture was postponed due to Hearts of Oak’s participation in the CAF competition preliminary matches” it noted.

The FA also stated that, it will be the final outstanding match to round up the first round of the 2021/22 League season.
