Police officer captured on video “drunk” interdicted

The Ghana Police Service has interdicted one of it’s officers who was captured on video in a perceived drunken state.

In a Wednesday, January 12, 2022 statement, the service said that the said officer has been identified and in line with police regulations, he had been interdicted to make way for investigation into his conduct.

According to the police, the attention of administration was drawn to the video circulating on social media in which one of their officers is seen in uniform possibly drunk.

According to the Director of Public Affairs, ACP Kwesi Ofori, a clinical psychologist has been assigned to evaluate the said police officer and offer him the necessary support.

“In addition, he will be referred to the Police Medical Board for thorough review and support towards rehabilitation where necessary “, ACP Kwesi Ofori stated.

The police noted that the officer in question suitability to remain in the or otherwise will be based on the outcome of investigations and the recommendation of the Police Medical Board.
