The President of the Ghana Drunkards Association, Moses Onyah also known as Dry Bone, has lambasted the drunk police officer cited in the viral video circulating on social media.

According to him, the police officer’s ‘style’ of drunkenness is bad and unprofessional.

In an interview with host of Angel FM’s Anopa Bofoↄ breakfast show on Thursday, Moses Onyah stated that when he saw the viral video, he was so disappointed that he had to take four shots of liquor to watch the video a second time.

Moses Dry Bone, as he is popularly called, declared that information reaching them indicates that the said officer drunk about nine shots of hard liquor from four separate spots around the Kotokraba area since he does patrols around the Cape Coast stretch.

He added that it is thus difficult to tell what drinks he took and which ones led him into his drunken state.

He further posited that a six-member committee has been set up to investigate why he got drunk and what made him drunk.

Mr. Moses Onyah revealed that when it comes to drinking there is what is called ‘professional mixing’, which involves a good combination of different liquors however if investigations reveal that only one brand of drink caused his drunken state then that drink is bad for consumption and must be recalled by the FDA.

Speaking in the local Twi parlance, he also expressed disappointment in the Ghana Police Service for failing to heed their request.

The president of the Ghana Drunkards Association intimated that in 2021, they petitioned the service to provide assistance or escort to their members in dire situations however, that request never materialized.

We are over seven million in Ghana and we hoped that the police would provide some form of assistance to our members in times of difficulty. If they had heeded our request, this shameful video of the drunk police officer would not be circulating on social media, he said in Twi.

Additionally, he said that should the police kowtow to their demands, as soon as someone is spotted drunk, the regional or district police commander can quickly dispatch a patrol team to pick the person to the nearest police station.

They should give the person a place to sleep and food to eat to avoid death, which is also part of police responsibilities because if the officer had died the service would have written that he died in the line of duty but we know he was off-duty.
