The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has extended employment contract for Head of Local Government Services, Engineer Dr. Nana Ato Arthur, despite attaining the retirement age.

Ing. Dr. Nana Ato Arthur turned 60 on December 24, 2021, an event he marked with philanthropic activities at Berasi, his home town in the Central Region.

Taking into consideration article 199 of the 1992 Constitution, “A public officer shall, except as otherwise provided in this constitution, retire from the public service on attaining the age of sixty years”.

Thus, it was expected that at 60, he would withdraw from the services. However, the former Member of Parliament for Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem Constituency during a media soiree at his residence said he would be staying a while longer.
