Ghana Premier League leaders, Asante Kotoko extended their lead gap in the ongoing 2021/22 league cup following the club’s 1-0 home win over Medeama SC on Sunday January 23, 2022.

Cameroonian import George Mfegue scored the only goal for the Porcupines in the 79th minute at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi to win all three points for the home side.

The results mean Kotoko are six points clear from second placed Aduana Stars who travel to Dawu to play Dreams FC today’s afternoon, January 24, 2022.

Kotoko having gathered 30 points from 13 matches, are also 10 points clear to bitter rivals Hearts of Oak who lost 1-0 to Karela United on Saturday.

Before the game, however, Kotoko used the opportunity and unveiled midfielder Justice Blay, who joined them from Medeama as a free agent.

Meanwhile, Hearts will play Kotoko in their outstanding league fixture next month.

In Accra, Great Olympics beat King Faisal 2-1 to hand them their third straight defeat.
