Twifo Praso: Police Officer crushed to death by speeding vehicle

A speeding Daewoo truck has crushed a police corporal to death at Twifo Mampong near Twifo Ati-Morkwa district of the Central Region.

The incident is reported to have occurred Saturday, January 29, 2022.

The deceased, Corporal Promise Adzinu was stationed at the Twifo Praso Command until his demise.

Confirming the incident, the Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Irene Oppong said, the truck with registration number CR 324 -21 from Twifo Praso heading towards Cape Coast, on reaching a section of the road at Twifo Mampong police checkpoint veered off the road.

She said the truck then crashed into an oncoming motorbike with registration number M-21-CR-1031 ridden by the deceased and a passenger.

The police officer and the passenger sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Twifo Praso District Government Hospital, where Corporal Promise Adzinu was pronounced dead on arrival while the injured passenger is responding to treatment.

The body has since been deposited at the Twifo Praso Government Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
