The mebers of the Komfo Anokye Doctors’ Association (KADA) have halted the strike action they embarked upon to demand their 13 month unpaid salary and car maintainance allowance.

Doctors at the biggest medical facility in the Ashanti Region embarked on this action on Tuesday, Friday 1, 2022 with a threat not to return to work if the government fails to settle those allowances.

However, the doctors on Saturday, February 5, 2022 suspended the industrial action afte a meeting with managers of the Ghana Medical Association (GMA).

Ashanti Regional Chairman of the GMA, who is also a memnber of KADA, Dr. Paa Kwasi Baidoo explained on Citi News that the Doctos called off the strike action after they were shown evidence that their demands would be met in no time.

“The Hospital CEO and his management called and showed detailed evidence of how to go about these conditions that are outstanding as part of our conditions of service and we are satisfied.

“Once that was satisfied, we called a meeting with the members and the proposal was presented to them which they also accepted. Having agreed to the proposals on both sides, there is no need to continue with the strike. It has been called off with immediate effect” Dr. Paa Kwasi Baidoo added.
