The father of late Ebony Reigns has described February 8, as a bad day which needs to be expelled from the calendar.

According to Starboy Kwarteng, he wishes that date would neither exist nor be marked on any calendar, to prevent such horrible incident [the death of Ebony] from repeating itself.

The late Priscilla Kwarteng, popularly known as Ebony in showbiz, died in a fatal car accident, together with two others, on February 8, 2018, after a visit to her family at Sunyani and was returning to Accra.

He made this revelation on Y’adwumanie on Angel FM on February 8, 2022, which marks the fourth anniversary of the afrobeat singer.

In remembrance of the “Konkonsa Police” hitmaker, his father said the family were not going to have any celebration but will be clad in black to lay a wreath on her grave at the Osu cemetery.

Nana Opoku Kwarteng also said looking at the caliber of person his daughter was, it was appropriate to remember her each year though she was no more.

He explained that though the celebration will be on a low key, her birthday which falls on February 16, will be celebrated as always to remember how great a person she was.

He added that, he has constantly been in touch with her daughter as they always communicate, describing himself as a spiritualist. “ I am fine with Nana Hemaa and she is fine with me… and we had a conversation today as it is her anniversary.”

Starboy urged Ebony’s fans to celebrate and honour her because “Nana Hemaa still lives on.”
