A group of four members of the Majority Caucasus in Parliament, have filed a private members’ motion to form a bi-partisan group to probe the death of the late President John Evans Atta-Mills.
The four-member team includes Mpraeso MP, Davis Opoku Ansah, Tema Central MP, Yves Hanson Nortey, Tolon MP, Habib Iddrisu with the Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh Dompreh leading the group.
The Members of Parliament would be expected to provide a basis for their motion should the Speaker of Parliament present the motion for deliberations by the House.
The late President is reported to have died after battling throat cancer on July 24, 2012.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of the Atta Mills Institute, Koku Anyidoho, recently called for a State investigation into the death of the former statesman.
The late Atta Mills served as Vice President under Jerry John Rawlings before becoming president in 2008 with John Mahama as his Vice.
