Power FM’s presenter, Oheneba Boamah Bennie, has been freed after completing his two-week jail term at the Nsawam Prison.

Mr. Bennie was spotted in some videos Monday, February 21, 2022, smiling and basking in the love and embrace of his loved ones.

The journalist had alleged that President Akufo-Addo met with some judges after the December 2020 polls, in order to influence them should there be a court petition.

The presenter was arrested and charged with contempt of court after an invitation from the police service.

Oheneba  Boamah Bennie was fined a sum of GHc 3,000 and also asked to serve a two week jail sentence on February 8, 2022 after the Attorney-General, Godfred Dame dragged him to court for his unsubstantiated claims.

During his trial, the Attorney-General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, argued that the journalist should be punished to deter others from making such unsubstantiated claims.

Justice Elfreda Dankyi said the 36-year-old was guilty of breaching the peace and publishing false news, contrary to Sections 207 and 208 (1) respectively of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
