A ten-bedroom house and three excavators have been set ablaze in the early hours of Wednesday February 23, 2022 at Nkawie Ntobro in the Nyinahini district.

According to eye witness account by one Isaac Osei, some soldiers who invaded the house without any engagement with its occupants, poured disel in and around the house and set it on fire.

He added that the house was burnt together with the three excavators which were parked on the compound.

Isaac who is an occupant of the affected house further lamented that, they were not given the opportunity to pick their personal belongings including an undisclosed amount of money from the building.

He noted that they were small scale miners occupying the apartment. However they were not operating closer to any river to necessitate the action of the military men.

He said they brought their operation to a halt two weeks ago and brought their excavators home only to be faced by the tragedy.

When the host, Kofi Adoma Nwanwani asked if they knew of any operation carried out by the military men in the vicinity, he replied that, there has not been such operation. However, he believes that someone had gone to give a tip off about their operation as small scale miners which has led to the incident.
