Adwoa Safo’s absence more important than 136 NPP MPs in Parliament – Felix Kwakye Ofosu

Former Communications Minister under erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has said the absence of the Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament is more significant to Ghanaians than the presence of the remaining 136 MP’s of the Majority caucus in the house.

According to him, the MP’s absence has thwarted the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) plan of implementing the e-levy which Ghanaians are opposing.

“Adwoa Safo’s absence from Parliament has been more beneficial to the people of Ghana than the presence of all the 136 other NPP MPs and the Independent (but very dependent on the NPP MP) who are obsessed with approving the loathed e-levy.

“Adwoa Safo has done more for Ghana by her absence than the NPP government has done in the last few years. They wanted to impose hardships through the E-Levy and she thwarted that with her absence,” Mr. Kwaye said in a Facebook post

Adwoa Safo, the Dome-Kwabenya MP who doubles as Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, has recently come under immense criticism from some members within the governing party following her protracted absence in parliament, which has adversely affected government’s business, especially the passage of the controversial e-levy.

Meanwhile, vociferous lawmaker Kennedy Agyapong has blasted her baby mama for holding the party to ransom and alleged that, the MP in question has demanded for the removal of Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Kwabena Afenyo-Markin before she returns to Parliament.

He also threatened to never return to Parliament but travel to US and demand for President Akuffo-Addo to resign, if the president yields to Adwoa Safo’s request.

But, Felix Ofosu-Kwakye believes Adwoa Sarfo’s absence has been profitable. According to him, “never has anyone made more impact on Ghanaian society through her absence.”
