Drivers with ride-hailing companies, Bolt, Uber and Yango in the country, have declared a two-day nationwide sit-down strike over poor service conditions.

The strike begins on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, to Wednesday, April 6, 2022.

According to leaders of the online rider, they are suffering from poor service conditions in what they classified as “unprofessional” in their line of duties.

A public notice sighted by Angelonline.com.gh, said, “Drivers on Uber, Bolt, Yango Courier service (Bolt food) are all encouraged to stay home.”

“We are suffering and one of our grievances is that, we do not know where Riders are going until we start the trip. That is why we mostly we call it unprofessional to ask for the destination before coming.”

The notice, therefore, urged its members to stay home to avoid wasting fuel since there is the likelihood of pranks or fake requests.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience but for improvement in the conditions of services and security of both parties, we need to embark on this strike,” they underscore.
