The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has paid a glowing tribute to the former Second Lady, Her Excellency Hajia Ramatu Aliu Mahama describing her as a great asset to the nation.
According the Mr. Bagbin, the late spouse of the late Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama was a hardworking figure who acted as a pillar of strength behind the the exploits of her deceased husband.
The former Second Lady died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at the age of 70 after battling illness.
However, to commiserate with the family of the late Hajia Ramatu Aliu Mahama, the Speaker said he’d learnt with shock and deep sadness of the demise.
“Her Excellency Hajia Ramatu Aliu Mahama was a hard-working woman, a great asset to the nation and the strong pillar behind the exploits of her deceased husband, His Excellency Alhaji Aliu Mahama, a former Vice president of the republic”
“May Allah be merciful and kind to Hajia Ramatu Aliu Mahama and may her beautiful soul rest peacefully in the bosom of her Maker. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, loved ones and the entire nation during this period of grief” Alban Bagbin said in a tweet.
