The Ghana Education Service (GES) has dismissed reports on social media that it has prescribed uniforms for teachers in the country.
There has been pictures of some personnel posing as teachers wearing the supposed new uniform for staff of the service.
But GES, in a Facebook post debunked the report and urged the public to disregard it describing it as “fake news.”
According to them, the service can’t introduce uniforms for teachers without engaging the teacher unions.
“GES is one of the largest Gov’t agencies in Ghana. We employ more than half of all Gov’t employees. If we want to introduce uniforms for teachers we won’t do that through social media and over the weekend”
“In this era of unionized labour GES cannot introduce a uniform for teachers without engaging the teacher unions. Disregard this fake news” The disclaimer served noticed.
