The founder and leader of the Lord’s Parliament Chapel, Prophet Francis Amoako-Attah has eulogised the national Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, describing him as an “embodiment of peace”.
The decades-long serving cleric was ceremoniously appointed into office in 1993 and has since served as the leader of the Islamic community.
He has been lauded by people from all walks of life for his leadership and impact on the Ghanaian community in respect of his ability to manager conflicts to sustain the peace in a manner that has won the admiration of many.
Over the weekend, the Vice President of the Republic, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia paid a surprise visit to him at his residence at New Fadama in Accra to commemorate his 103rd birthday.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Bawumia attributed the peaceful co-existence among the various religious groups to him, juxtaposing it with the brewing conflicts in neighbouring countries especially in West Africa.
“We have peace because of the relationship among the diverse people and religions. Everybody in the country today understands that the peace we are enjoying has a lot to do with how the Chief Imam is holding all of us together”, said the Vice President on Saturday, April 23, 2022.
Adding his voice to the many well wishes expressed towards Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, Prophet Amoako-Atta hopes that his successor would possess the same qualities that will continue to protect the peace of the nation when his period of office comes to an end.
“We have the best Chief Imam and I always pray that after that man they will have another man just like him. That man is an angel whom God has given to this nation through Islam. The man is a man of peace, the picture of peace, the embodiment of peace…”
The clergyman made the observation on Angel FM’s Anopa Bofoↄ show while speaking in relation to the Ramadan fast which ends on Monday, May 2, 2022.
