Tema: Police on manhunt for four robbery suspects who killed a car dealer

The Tema Regional Police Command is on a manhunt for four suspected robbers who allegedly killed a car dealer around Bampo Hotel.

According to the police, the four suspects shot and killed the deceased Felix Tetteh Batcha, a car dealer at Community 9, on Monday, April 25, 2022.

A presser from the Police revealed said “Preliminary investigations indicate that at 2 pm on Monday 25 April 2022, the deceased who was a car dealer at Community 9, received a call from a man who expressed an interest in buying one of the cars he was selling. The prospective buyer introduced himself as a doctor at the Community 22 Polyclinic”

“When the car dealer arrived at the Polyclinic, the supposed doctor claimed he was busy at the surgical theatre and therefore sent one of his boys to go on a test drive with the deceased and his friend who had accompanied him.”

The statement stressed “When they got to a spot around Bampo Hotel, the test driver stopped and got down under the pretext of making a phone call. Some minutes later, three men emerged on a motorbike, attempted to forcibly collect the ignition key from the deceased and in the ensuing struggle, shot him.”

The police says, the vehicle has since been recovered whiles the police anti-robbery task force is working to get the perpetrators arrested.

Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dr George Akuffo Dampare, has reached out to the victim’s family and provided them with police clinical psychologists to offer psycho-social support to them.

The Regional Police Commander has also visited the bereaved family to commiserate with them and assured them of a thorough investigation to get the suspects arrested to face justice.
