A determined Bechem United side on Sunday, May 15, 2022, humbled Dormaa-based Aduana Stars in their second semi-final encounter of this year’s MTN FA Cup at the Brekum Golden City Park.

The hunters who had total dominance in the first half scored two quick goals within the first 30 minutes to quench the fire of the ‘Ogya Boys’

Emmanuel Avornyo opened the scoring as early as the 16th minute with a strike to beat Aduana Stars goalkeeper Joseph Addo.

Bechem United doubled their lead in the 25th minute through Augustine Okrah’s superb free-kick to make it 2-0 before the break.

The second department of the game produced a scintillating end-to-end display but Aduana’s attempt to recover from the two-goal deficit did not come into reality.

The victory means the 2015 winners of the competition (MTN FA Cup) progressed to their finals for the first time in seven years.

Meanwhile, Accra Hearts of Oak, the 2021 champions beat Dreams FC 3-2 on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first semi-final clash.

The final is now set for Bechem United and holders Accra Hearts of Oak, which will take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday, June 26, 2022.

The eventual winner of the trophy represents Ghana in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup, the continent’s second-tier inter-club competition.

The hunters will be chasing their second glory whilst the phobians also seek to defend the trophy they won last year and to also win their 12th FA cup trophy in the history of the competition.
