#FixTheCountry Convener, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, has been granted a GH¢30,000 bail by the Madina District Court.

Oliver Barker-Vormawor pleaded ‘not guilty’ in court, however, two other drivers, who were arrested together with him, pleaded guilty to their road traffic offence. The two drivers were fined 300 cedis each while Oliver was handed a GH¢30,000 bail.

He was arrested for a traffic offence on Tuesday morning at the East Legon Tunnel by officers of the Motor Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service.

He was subsequently charged with careless and inconsiderate driving and non-observance of road markings.

“Neho! I am currently Being held in cells at the Madina Court. My phone still with me. Very Bizarre that I had never been arrested in life. Yet, In just one year of #FixTheCountry activism, I have already been arrested three times”, he posted on his Facebook page after his arrest.

In a similar fashion, he wrote that “Just released. Arrested at 7:30am. Stripped down and kept in police cells for 8hours, for a ‘road traffic offense’ apparently. 30,000 cedis bail and 2 sureties.

Mr. Barker Vormawor indicated that he is not above the laws of Ghana but attributed his three arrests to his  #FixTheCountry activism.
