Kylian Mbappé has tonight announced that he has decided to stay at Paris Saint-Germain, signing a contract renewal until 2025 which puts an end to a year-long transfer saga as he snubs Real Madrid.

The forward, who had pushed for a move to the Spanish team last summer, reportedly had an agreement in place with both clubs going into the weekend, and was due to announce his choice imminently.

Having been with Les Parisiens since 2017, Mbappé has grown into the team’s undisputed best player in the last two seasons, and become a contender for the Ballon d’Or.

This season, the 23-year-old ended the campaign as Ligue 1’s top goalscorer (25) and assister (17), as PSG won their 10th league title and he named player of the season.

Mbappé’s renewal has also been reported to be the catalyst for a host of major changes across the board at PSG, with Le Parisien indicating that manager Mauricio Pochettino and sporting director Leonardo are set to leave the club this summer.
